ReSEAlience Endorsed as a UN Ocean Decade Project and Joins the GEOS Programme

We are delighted to announce two major milestones for the ReSEAlience initiative – "Unlocking the Potential of Seaweeds and Halophytes through Biorefinery for Enhanced Resilience in the Aquaculture, Agri-Food and Chemical Industries."
Official Endorsement by the UN Ocean Decade
ReSEAlience has been officially endorsed as a Decade Project under the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021–2030), coordinated by UNESCO's Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC). This endorsement recognizes the project's contribution to advancing sustainable ocean-based solutions and fostering innovation in the blue bioeconomy. Through the development of integrated biorefinery approaches for seaweeds and halophytes, ReSEAlience aims to enhance resilience across the aquaculture, agri-food, and chemical sectors while supporting ecosystem sustainability and climate adaptation.

ReSEAlience Becomes Part of the GEOS Programme
We are also pleased to announce that ReSEAlience has been formally linked to the Global Ecosystem for Ocean Solutions (GEOS) Programme, one of the endorsed programmes of the UN Ocean Decade. GEOS brings together transformative initiatives that generate science-based solutions to address pressing ocean challenges and accelerate sustainable development. By joining the GEOS network, ReSEAlience will contribute to a global community dedicated to translating research and innovation into practical ocean solutions with societal and environmental impact.
